“15/05/2002 I have come here to seek an answer on how to achieve harmonious relations between Cuba and the United States, said [Former President] James Carter in the Aula Magna of the University of Havana, crowded with students and professors and in the presence of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro. Further on he said: ‘I want to become friends and respect one another’ (Granma) our country is moving closer towards a society where all human beings can have similar possibilities.
