“September 1962; The Cuban Embassy in Japan was asked to ‘cancel’ the visit by a Cuban trade mission to Tokyo. The U.S. government tried to pressure Japan into halting purchases of Cuban sugar. Notwithstanding, this was complicated due to the low stocks of sugar worldwide and the higher prices of the Cuban sugar. However, the Japanese government banned the sales of strategic and military supplies to Cuba, cut back their sales of non-strategic manufactured goods and redirected from Cuban ports vessels under Japanese ownership or registered in that country.” [The 15th of the month used for date sorting purposes only.] [Pro Embargo]
