This searchable database, in timeline format, begins on April 15, 1865 when Andrew Johnson became the 17th U.S. president (we have added when the Presidents have taken office for historical perspective). It then includes the first large scale war for Cuban independence (October 10, 1868), the Castro regime’s January, 1959 takeover of Cuba, the 1960 U.S. embargo, the April 15, 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion, the October, 1962 Cuban missile crisis, and other events.
